Sinopsis.

En el año 2015, los Angeles,unas grandes maquinas de guerra extraterrestres inmensamente poderosas, aparecen en Tokio, por segunda vez. La única esperaza de supervivencia de la humanidad descansa sobre el Evangelion, una maquina de combate humanoide desarrollada por NERV, una especial agencia de Naciones Unidas. Capaz de resistir cualquier cosa, puede dar una buena paliza a los Angels, la única desventaja del Evangelion esta en el limitado numero de personas capaces de pilotarlos. Solo un contado numero de adolescentes, todos nacidos hace 14 años, nueve meses después que la primera aparición de los Angels, son capaces de interactuar con el Evangelion. Uno de esos jóvenes adolescentes es Shinji Ikari, cuyo padre encabeza el equipo NERV que ha desarrollado y mantiene el Evangelion. Se ve obligado a entrar en un remolido de batallas y acontecimientos que no entiende, Shinji se ve obligado a recurrir a las profundidades de su interior en busca de coraje y fuerza no solo para luchar sino también para sobrevivir, con el riesgo de perderlo todo.
